Shea Moisture Darcy Botanical Soultanicals Product Review

Hey beautiful curlies!

I recently feel in love with my curls...again! I, like many other naturals, I got frustrated with my lack of curls. Everyone repeats the same theory that type 4 hair does not have a curl pattern. If I hear that one more time imma lose it. Its a lie! How can your hair be curly and have no curl pattern? I'll admit type 4 hair does not clump its curls easily but it still has a curl pattern. Anyway I had a failed braidout turn magnificent braid out the other day but my hair was really dirty so I had to wash it, don't ya hate that?

Anyway I washed with Shea Moisture Curl and Shine Shampoo. I noticed some bottles of this is a white and creamy but mine is alot darker idk why. Here's what I did:

  • Detangle hair with Herbal Essence Honey I'm Strong Conditioner & water. Braid hair.
  • Shampoo twice, once w/ braids focusing on scalp & second with hair unbraided to make sure to clean strands.
  • Apply Darcy's Botanical Pumpkin Seed Conditioner w/ hair in 4 sections. Left it on overnight.
  • Apply Soultanicals Murula-muru moisture guru and braid hair.
To me every shampoo is pretty much the same. I never had a shampoo that I loved and I dilute every shampoo I use.
The Darcy's Botanical Conditioner is hands down the thickest conditioner I ever came across. The bottle is pretty full and I still had to muscle the bottle to squeeze some of it out. I love the smell (pumpkin) but it has no slip at all. It does provide moisture but wow no slip is a big offense to me.
I already have a full review of Soultanicals but ill mention that I like the Muru guru. It has a banana smell, some slip and seals in the moisture. All in all I like this butter/cream.

I thought I'd keep this review short and sweet. Let me know if you guys want a more in depth reviews or short reviews. Take care beautiful curlies!

TIGI Bedhead Product Review

Hey Beautiful Curlies!
Okay so I've been trying my best NOT to buy any more products but it is getting hard out here! Black Friday is coming up, youtube videos are still giving me the "new product itches" and I haven't quite been able to go to any store without strolling through the hair products isle. IF YOU ARE IN THIS SITUATION STOP! Instead of shopping the stores, shop your product stash! Naturals have the most embarrassingly large amounts of hair products I have ever seen! When I was relaxed I had maybe 4 products. Now that I'm natural I have maybe 40 products? So I have to shop my products, some I truly haven't even tried yet.

Earlier this week I tried Bedhead TIGI Ego Boost Leave-in and On the Rebound Curl Cream.

I will always be honest with you guys. These two products SUCK! I used them both on freshly cowashed hair. I used the Ego Boost, which is runny serum (imo) that has absolutely no slip (huge downfall) and did not provide moisture. Mind you this Leave-in is $16.50! The On the Rebound Curl Cream is okay. It does have a great smell and because it is a thick cream it goes on smoothly. However, when it dried I had flakes all over and some spots the product did not absorb and left dried cream spots in my hair. This retails for $18! I immediately rewashed my hair it was so bad.

I would NOT recommend these products AT ALL! For my 4abc hair this was a big no no. I might try to work these products (maybe use less or with different products) to see if they can atleast do a decent job at moisturizing and defining my curls. Leave a comment below if you have tried these products of have questions. Take care Beautiful Curlies!

The Combo

Hey Beautiful! I missed you so much. Not much has really happened to my hair since the last blog. I straightened my hair and no it didn't come out the way I wanted =( but that's okay (a lie was told. I really wanted it to be bone straight hence the four hours of labor that went into doing it.) Anyway that's another post. Right now ill just do some more product reviews because I like keeping track and viewing other reviews.

Today will be on a combo that I recently discovered is like magic in my 4abc hair. Curl Junkie Curl Rehab and Samy Fat Curls Curl Enhancing Crème.
There is a lot of bad reviews for the Fat curls line. I'm not going against any one else's reviews on that. If you use the line together and think your hair will be anything other than dry and a mess your crazy, especially for us with type 4 fantastic coils that don't play! HOWEVER, I got the line for free and I don't waste products so I gave this a try on its own.

After I shampoo, I use the Curl Junkie Curl Rehab. This stuff is sooooo amazing but sooooo expensive. I got this on a curlmart sale 20% off so it came out to be $16 for 8oz. ($2/oz.) Still pricey in my opinion but I'm glad I took the leap because this stuff has really good slip. I would only buy it on sale because I'm cheap, even thinking about buying the bigger size to lower the cost since I keep repurchasing it. So I leave this on for hours under a plastic cap and a T-shirt. Rinsed that out and put the Curl Enhancing Crème on. I was so shocked how much it helped to detangle my hair. It was really good like really good no really it was gooooooooooood. It had slip, smells nice, moisturizes, has a little hold and has a pump top. It retails for $9-$10 for 5oz. ($2/oz.) the same per ounce price as the CJCR which is why I wouldn't say it is cheap.

These two together made my braid-out soft, moisturized with medium definition. If you have these two try it out, or if you have the FCCEC DO NOT THROW IT AWAY. Use it by itself and see if it works for you.

Oh and I tried the Fat Curls Curl Creating Mousse too on two strand twists to make them last longer and I liked it. It is sticky but that goes away once it dries. Same smell as the others in the line. If you put something moisturizing underneath it works just fine and gave my twists a lot of hold.

That's it. Let me know if you want more reviews or your thoughts on these products. Take care, beautiful.
